The Australian Salsa Classic! This is a national competition happening in Sydney, but it may be of interest to some of you, as it is the official qualifier for the ESPN World Salsa Championships. Also in attendance will be the world famous Johnny Vasquez.

Sonora Carrueseles are coming to Perth! This is a major event for the Perth salsa scene. Sonora Carruseles are one of the most well known international salsa bands around, and it is a very big deal that they are making their way here. The song they are probably most famous for, and probably everyone at salsa has heard some time or other (and one that I use a lot for teaching), is "Micaela". You'll probably recognise it as the song that starts with the hand claps and the "ooh aah, ooh aah". The 3rd Annual Sydney Salsa Congress! I wouldn't normally put a interstate event on here, but this is the biggest Salsa event in Australia, right up there with the rest of the big Salsa Congresses around the world. If you are serious about Salsa and can spare the money, don't miss this one! I could go on forever about it, but it's easier if you just check out the site.

Christmas at The Deen. Another one of the big nights at the Deen, with Sabroson playing latin tunes for us, and Sambalicious doing their thing in the other room. This time apparently the balcony room overlooking Sabrason's area will also be available for the "serious dancers" to get their groove on.

The Latin Quarter's 2nd Birthday at The Deen. Sabroson will be there playing live Salsa music, and Sambalicious will be there doing their usual thing, but in the big room. These nights are always pretty good, and quite packed out.

LACA's Smoke Free WA Latin Extravaganza 2006, at the Fremantle Passenger Terminal, Victoria Quay. This is more of general Latin night than a Salsa night. You'll see performances of traditional Latin dances, and the dancing after will be a mix of Salsa, Merengue, and Cha-Cha. Also Sambalicious, the Brazilian band from The Deen, will be there.
